This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of video production. Students will learn how to pre-visualize & storyboard a script, following this up with how to get the most out of their camera and be creative with lighting: framing, composition, angles, lenses, filters, lighting set-ups, gels, practicals, etc. Editing, sound design and post-production will also be touched on, providing students with tips and techniques. Practical exercises will demonstrate different principles in each class. Students require their own digital video camera and editing software (FinalCut Pro, Adobe Premier, etc) and should have familiarity with the operation of these tools: the focus of the workshop is on aesthetics and story-telling. No other pre-requisite is required. Can be taken in conjunction with a short production prospective students are planning.

Students are advised to have a laptop computer for this course - require editing software (FinalCut Pro, Adobe Premier, etc)

This course is designed for students who are familiar with the fundamentals, and are interested in making their own production. Come with a short script in mind! Student projects will be work-shopped, from polishing scripts through pre-production and post. Students require their own digital video camera and editing software (FinalCut Pro, Adobe Premier, etc). No pre-requisite required, but Digital Production I and Introduction to Screenwriting are suggested.
